Though he knew, he got cheated,
he left that village with a smile.

Though he owned a profitable shop back then,
he sold fruits on the streets of Vizag.

Though he was born with a golden spoon,
he fasted so many times to pay my school fee.

Though he gave me 50 paise as pocket money
everyday, he never failed to give.

He denied the idea of adopting me by
distant relatives who were childless & said that
"I'll beg on the streets to feed my kids,
but will never give upon them"

He consumed half of a tablet which has to be
one per day, just to run the family financially.

He wore the same rubber slippers as long as
he could, to buy me a pair of sandles.

He treated the old dress given by
a well wisher as an Occassion Wear,
just to buy a dress for my birthday.

Never seen him crying despite loosing his health, wealth,
name in the society & in relatives circles.
But once saw him crying for me when I was
about to stay away from family for my graduation.
That's why, "My DAD Is Great".
He might not gave me properties to live luxurious life,
but he gave life to so many who
don't even know the meaning of gratitude.

He might have left me at my early stage of life,
but the lessons he taught me through his life &
the sacrifices he made to give me
a comfortable life are priceless.
